Therapeutic riding is a combination of sport, recreation and education. Specially trained NARHA qualified instructors teach horsemanship skills to riders with varying ability levels. A typical therapeutic riding lesson involves safety on and around horses, warm up exercises, games and riding skills including equitation and obstacle. Increased balance, strength and self esteem are some of the benefits of this wonderful recreational activity.
Volunteers and Riders participate in the Therapeutic Riding Class offered at the Holiday Classic by the Oklahoma Paint Horse Club.
Our next show will be at the Pinto World in Tulsa, OK. Please come and watch the Challenged Riders Class on Wednesday, June 16. Please visit PINTOWORLD.COM for more information and LIVE coverage of events.
Our newest instructor,
Lisa Ann Yost, has worked with children with disabilities throughout her life. She volunteered in high school and became an active member of Bit by Bit, while she attended Rogers State University, in Claremore, OK.
Become a Volunteer - Volunteers are needed for all types of things. Help with the riders, help with the horses, or help with the facilities. Fill out the volunteer application and attend a training class!!
